School Uniform
The purpose of wearing a school uniform promotes the ethos of the school, 'to be the best that we can be'. Not only this, it sets a tone for education. Above all else, it provides the children with a sense of belonging and identity. Children should wear their uniform with pride and also take responsibility for it.
Our school uniform is listed below. Our uniform is designed to be inclusive and accessible to all, so as long as the purpose is maintained, the children can choose what items they wear in each season. However, there are some optional extras for specific seasons.

Plain jumpers/cardigans/polo shirts, etc are more than acceptable and actually more suitable due to the nature of our curriculum. However, if you wish to purchase items with a school logo, this can be done via School Trends.

Second Hand Uniform
Set up by a parent volunteer, there is a dedicated Facebook group for parents to pass on second-hand school uniform to others in need. Any items listed are free of charge, but a voluntary donation to the PTA is welcomed.

We also keep a small selection of items in the school office. If you require any uniform pieces, please reach out to us, we are more than happy to help.
The children in every class access Forest School every week throughout the year. On their specified day, the children must have appropriate clothing for not only the weather, but for protection. It is advised that all clothing is old as it will get dirty and worn. Please see the list below.
Forest School Clothing Guidance:
- Hat (woolly in winter, baseball cap/legionnaires hat in summer)
- Scarf and gloves (2 pairs)
- Jacket or coat (warm padded coat for winter, windproof jacket for spring/autumn, light jacket for summer)
- Fleece/jumper (put it in a backpack if you’re not wearing it)
- Long trousers (all year round, to provide protection)
- Waterproof trousers or waterproof all-in-one
- Long-sleeved T-shirt (all year round – to provide protection)
- Vest or T-Shirt (as an extra layer in colder weather)
- Thick socks (2 pairs of socks or tights to be worn in winter)
- Waterproof sturdy shoes or wellington boots- keep in mind that wellies are essential for every day, so you don't need to double up.
General Guidance
- We enjoy Opal at lunchtimes, which means we enjoy playing outdoors no matter what the weather. We ask that children are suitably dressed and if they want to be on the grassed area- they must wear wellies. Waterproof coats are a must and trousers are an option if you want to protect your uniform. Mud is our friend!
- All items of clothing must be clearly labelled with your child’s name
- PE kit should be in a large, labelled drawstring bag
- Hair slides or hairbands should be dark green, black or white
- Please could you ensure that loops on coats are large enough to hang on our pegs
- We do not allow large backpacks as there is not enough room in our cloakrooms. Please ensure that bags are as compact as possible
- Valuable items and toys must not be brought to school. The school cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to any valuable items from home.
- No jewellery is permitted except for pierced ears. These should be studs only, and should be removed for swimming and PE, so that the child wearing them should be able to remove and replace them unaided. Ideally, ears should be pierced at the beginning of the summer break to give them time to heal.
- No nail varnish should be worn.
