We are proud to say that on 27th March 2026, we achieved the Platinum Standard for OPAL play, the highest accolade available, putting us in the top 1% of all schools nationally with the quality of our play provision.

 

What is Opal?

OPAL is an award-winning, mentor-supported programme that is supporting us to continuously improve the quality of our play opportunities. OPAL is the only programme of its kind that has been independently proven to sustainably improve the quality of play in British primary schools.

Our school vision is that everyone flourishes throughout their time with us, enjoying life in all its fullness and that applies to both academic learning and learning through play. We believe a positive play experience enhances a child’s emotional, mental and physical wellbeing.

We value each play type and are working to establish these within our school grounds.

 

So what do our play times look like?

Our children all play as one big happy family. Year groups mix and merge into one play zone, where children can access all areas in any zone that takes their fancy. Every day is different, it depends on where the children's creativity takes them... the possibilities are endless.
